| UCPE-4356 | Complete animal feed mill located on Notts/Lincs border and available for sale, lease or rental with various adjacent storage buildings and other on site facilities. The mill was producing up to 700 tonnes per week of poultry meal and was built originally in the late 70s but has been added to over the years. All the raw materials are blown into the silos, there is no lorry tipping intake although this could be added. There is no pelleting equipment, however there is room to add this if required. There are 4 No raw material silos outside and 5 No inside totalling around 350 tonnes. The plant has 4 No oil storage tanks some have electric trace heating. All the finished products were bulk dispatched so there are no bagging facilities although a bagging plant could be added. There are 7 No bulk outloading hoppers 6 No 25 tonnes each and one large unit sub divided into 9 No 25 tonne sections. The milling process is semi automatic apart from the addition of some concentrates which are hand tipped from bags. The mill operates on a double dump process weighing grindable materials and directing them to a 90 kw hammermill and then weighing non grindables and sending them directly to a 2 tonne three tier mixer where they meet up with the material from the hammermill and any hand tipped additives. Oils are quantified by flowmeters and are pumped directly into the mixer. The mixed meals are sent from the mixer directly to one of the bulk outloading hoppers. There is a control room for plant operation and a compressor to supply electro pnuematic valves and the reversejet filter that exhausts the hammermill. The mill has a 50 tonne weighbridge and a spacious brick built weighbridge office and canteen. There are two timber clad buildings available for storage. These were deep pit poultry sheds so have a ground floor and partial first floor. The sheds are 70 metres x 13 metres x 7 metres to the eaves. The ground floor is 3 metres high and the first floor 3 metres high. There are shared toilet, washing and shower facilities on site. | UCPE-4628 | New Air briquetting plant designed for straw but currently processing hardwood sawdust using part of the plant only. The plant was built late 1980's, I am told, and was processing straw for a few years. It was then redundant for about 15 years until acquired a few years ago by the current owner who uses the sawdust bunker, briquetter and cooling line only to produce hardwood briquettes at up to 350kg per hour using 12% moisture content material. The section of the plant currently in use has had a recent £8000 rebuild with new hydraulics and upgraded control system. It has done about 5 hours work since the rebuild. The unused parts of the plant have been partly refurbished and painted but there is still work to be done by the new owner. The plant in its straw processing role comprises an enclosed whole bale bunker with chain and slat base and a serrated shredding drum. The shredded straw passes onto an enclosed belt conveyor which passes the material to a chopper fan/hammermill with a screen in it to size the material. The chopper fan is belt driven with a motor that looks to be about 15kw. The chopped product is conveyed pneumatically to a 5.0 cubic metre circular storage bunker with a sweep arm discharger in the base. The bunker has vertical dust socks above it that are shaken intermittently to aid cleaning. Below the bunker is a Bavaria BF500/VH briquetting press with a 15kw motor. The plant comprises the following machines :- Twin chain log feed conveyor approx. 1.8 metres wide x 7.3 metres long to fill log box on shaving mill. New B & C shaving mill with single 2.6 metre long reciprocating log box over 1066mm wide cutting heads. There are 3 x 200mm diameter 8 blade cutting heads each with a 37kw drive. The log box is hydraulically operated from a 30kw powerpack with oil cooler. Output is up to 50 cubic metres per hour. There is a chain conveyor below the cutters to convey the shavings to the machine outlet. Inclined U trough screw conveyor approx. 450 mm diameter x 5.0 metres long to transfer shavings to drum dryer. Triple pass rotary drum dryer with an evaporative capacity believed to be 2.5 tph. The drum was factory refurbished by Jackson Lumber in USA in 2010 and is in excellent condition. It is 2.8 metres outside diameter x 7.62 metres long (referred to as a 24’ x 8’) with chain drive, trunnions and riding rings. There is a 45kw fan with cyclone sucking dry shavings from the drum and discharging via a cyclone to the screen, no rotary valve. The drum was drying shavings from about 35 – 40% down to 10 – 12% at about 400 degrees C. Energy Unlimited refactory lined biomass burner believed to have been built in 2007. Rated at 18,000,000 BThU (5.27MW). The burner has a pneumatic sawdust feeding system with an 18 cubic metre storage bunker, screw discharge and fan. The biomass burner weighs about 28 tonnes. Fulghum 2.13 x 2.13 metre two deck gyratory shavings screen to separate splinters, bark etc on the 35 mm top screen and fines through the 6 mm bottom screen. The fines are pneumatically transferred to the sawdust bunker to fuel the biomass burner. This screen has been refurbished. Twin chain conveyor 600 mm wide x 525 mm deep x 11 metres long to convey shavings to the baler feed bunker. Purpose made shavings bunker based on an inclined U trough screw conveyor with wood and steel body. This holds about 15 – 20 mins of production. The discharge conveyor is about 300 mm diameter x 5.0 metres long and it is stopped and started by the baler demand. Inclined round cased screw conveyor approx. 500 mm diameter x 11.0 metres long to transfer shavings from the bunker discharge up to the baler weighing hopper. This is controlled by the baler demand. | UCPE-4131 | Claas Apollo mobile single pass rotary drum dryer believed to be mid 1970s vintage. This was working as a high temperature grass dryer but probably did less than 3000 hours work. The drum is 6.0 metres long and has an outside diameter of 2.0 metres and it is lagged and clad. The evaporative capacity is 2.6 tph at around 1000 degrees C but it can operate down to 500 degrees C when the evaporative capacity will be lower. The dryer is mounted on a single axle towable chassis and it has its own diesel power unit driving the hydraulics and electrical equipment. The furnace is diesel fired. Raw material is fed into the drum from a moving bed trailer with auger discharge that is parked next to the dryer and connected to the dryer's power source. The dried product is aspirated from the drum into a stainless steel cyclone with a top mounted fan. The discharge from the cyclone is via a twin screw discharger. | UCPE-4132 | Claas Apollo mobile single pass rotary drum dryer believed to be mid 1970s vintage. This was working as a high temperature grass dryer but probably did no more than 620 hours work. The drum is 6.0 metres long and has an outside diameter of 2.0 metres and it is lagged and clad. The evaporative capacity is 2.6 tph at around 1000 degrees C but it can operate down to 500 degrees C when the evaporative capacity will be lower. The dryer is mounted on a single axle towable chassis and it has its own diesel power unit driving the hydraulics and electrical equipment. The furnace is diesel fired.
